Azure OpenAI
OpenAI's models, deployed on Azure's infrastructure — the same GPT and reasoning models, with the enterprise identity, networking, and compliance controls Azure already provides.
Azure OpenAI Service gives access to OpenAI's model lineup — the GPT family, DALL-E for image generation, Whisper for speech, and other models — running on Azure's own infrastructure rather than a separate third-party endpoint. Models can be used as-is or fine-tuned against a business's own data for a specific task, and the service supports text, image, and real-time audio processing, along with tooling to moderate generated content before it reaches an end user.
Because it runs on Azure, it inherits Azure's identity, networking, and compliance surface — the service carries a 99.9% availability SLA and Microsoft cites over 100 compliance certifications, which matters for regulated industries that couldn't otherwise justify sending data to an external AI API. Pricing follows the workload: pay-as-you-go for variable, unpredictable usage; provisioned throughput units for reserved, predictable capacity; and a batch tier for large jobs that don't need a real-time response.
In practice, that lands it in customer support automation, marketing and product copy generation, data analysis for business intelligence, workflow and supply chain automation, and accessibility tooling — generally, anywhere a business wants generative or reasoning capability embedded into an existing application rather than a standalone chat interface.
How AzureForge AI uses Azure OpenAI
We use Azure OpenAI for generative design work and natural-language input handling — turning a plain-language request into a structured input another system can act on — as well as compliance-checking, where a model reviews content or configuration against a defined set of rules before it moves forward. Running it through Azure rather than a standalone API means it sits inside the same identity and networking boundary as the rest of a client's Azure environment, instead of being a separate integration to secure on its own.
