ForgeLink SMS Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
ForgeLink SMS ("the app") is a text messaging app for Android. This policy explains what information the app uses and what happens to it. The short version: your messages, contacts and other information stay on your phone. We do not run servers that receive your data, and we do not sell, share or analyze it.
Information the app uses
To work as your default SMS app, ForgeLink SMS uses the following on your device only:
- Text and picture messages (SMS/MMS) — to show, send, receive, search and organize your conversations. Messages are stored in Android's built-in message storage, the same place any default SMS app uses.
- Contacts — to show names and photos instead of phone numbers and to let you pick who to text.
- Phone state — to identify your SIM and phone number so messages send and receive correctly.
- Microphone — only when you record a voice message.
- Location — only when you choose to share your location in a message. It is read once, placed in that message, and not stored or tracked.
- Photos, videos and files — only the ones you choose to attach or save.
- Notifications — to alert you to new messages.
App settings such as drafts, quick replies, muted conversations, filters, scheduled messages and your profile picture are stored in the app's private storage on your phone.
What leaves your phone
- Messages you send go through your mobile carrier to the people you send them to, the same as any texting app.
- Link previews — when a message from a saved contact, a group, or you contains a web link, the app visits that link's web page to show its title and picture. That website sees an ordinary visit from your phone. Links from unknown numbers are not previewed.
- Android backup — if you have Android backup turned on, Android may include the app's settings in your personal Google backup. This is controlled by you in your phone's settings.
The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services, and the developer does not receive any of your information.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
Data retention and deletion
Everything the app keeps is on your phone. You can delete individual messages or conversations in the app, and uninstalling the app removes its settings and private storage. Messages remain in Android's message storage, where other messaging apps can also manage them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
